The very thought of downsizing can feel overwhelming, trying to decide the treasures from a lifetime of items. Growing up helping run our family business, I enjoyed hearing the cherished memories attached to these items. When I meet with a family for the first time, I get to learn so much about them, what is important to them. During the process, I am able to help guide and reassure them, and sometimes even get a smile or two. After the final picture is straightened, the final dish put away, I get to see a sense of calm as it replaces the stress they felt about their transition.
